Bumrah might return for the third ODI, but his participation in the Champions Trophy remains uncertain.

Indian star pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who was named the Test Cricketer of the Year 2024, has arrived in Bengaluru for medical scans to assess his back injury ahead of the ODI series against England. He sustained the injury during the final Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 against Australia.

The three-match ODI series will begin on February 6 in Nagpur and will be the last for both teams before the 2025 Champions Trophy in Pakistan and the UAE. India’s chief selector, Ajit Agarkar, confirmed that Bumrah will miss the first two ODIs but might return for the third match on February 12.

If Bumrah is unable to recover in time, Harshit Rana could replace him. This series also presents an opportunity for India to bounce back after a 0-2 ODI series loss to Sri Lanka in 2024.
