Why Did Pakistan Fail Again?

Pakistan’s Champions Trophy 2025 campaign took a major hit after a six-wicket defeat to India. Legendary pacer Shoaib Akhtar fiercely criticized the team’s management, calling them "brainless and clueless" for playing just one specialist spinner on a sluggish Dubai pitch. He stressed that without five full-time bowlers, winning was impossible.

Fans echoed his frustration, blaming captain Mohammad Rizwan and the coaching staff for poor team selection. Rizwan, however, defended the strategy, arguing that ODI cricket requires batting depth over a bowling-heavy lineup.

Despite back-to-back losses, Pakistan still has a slim chance of making the semi-finals — but only if Bangladesh defeats New Zealand. A Kiwi win would knock both Bangladesh and Pakistan out of the tournament. All eyes are now on Rawalpindi, where Pakistan’s fate hangs by a thread.
