Why Are No Indian Umpires Officiating at the Champions Trophy 2025?

No Indian officials: What is behind the ICC’s decision?
The ICC has confirmed the final list of match officials for the Champions Trophy 2025, set to take place in Pakistan and the UAE. Notably, no Indian umpires or referees are included.
According to PTI, India’s only representative on the ICC Elite Panel of Umpires, Nitin Menon, has withdrawn from the tournament due to personal reasons. Former Indian pacer Javagal Srinath is also absent, having requested leave after a busy cricketing season.
A total of 12 umpires will officiate the tournament, including experienced names like Richard Kettleborough, Chris Gaffaney, and Kumar Dharmasena. Matches will be held in Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Dubai. With no Indian officials present, the tournament is set to draw even more attention.
