Varun Chakravarthy in Contention for Champions Trophy 2025

Tamil Nadu leg-spinner Varun Chakravarthy continues to impress in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025. He took five crucial wickets in the quarter-final against Rajasthan, becoming the tournament's leading wicket-taker with 18 wickets in six matches.

Chakravarthy played a key role in restricting the opposition to 267 runs. He stopped a crucial partnership between Abhijit Tomar (111) and Mahipal Lomror (60) that helped Rajasthan collapse. His versatility in the delivery, especially the googly, has kept the opposition on edge.

Chakravarthy could be a surprise pick in India's squad for the Champions Trophy, which begins on February 19. Despite missing an ODI debut, he has already established himself at the international level in T20Is upon his return in 2024.
