USA Breaks India's Record for the Lowest Total Defended in Men's ODI

USA rewrites history, successfully defending just 122 runs against Oman.
The USA team has set a new record in men’s ODI by successfully defending the lowest total of 122 runs. They defeated Oman by 57 runs in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 match in Al Amerat. The previous record belonged to India, who defended 125 runs against Pakistan in 1985.
The match was entirely dominated by spinners: none of the nine bowlers used were pacers, making it a unique case in 4671 ODI matches. Left-arm spinner Nosthush Kenjige impressed with 5 wickets for 11 runs.
Both teams scored just 187 runs in 61 overs, the second-lowest aggregate in ODI history where both sides were dismissed. Spinners dominated in Al Amerat, where teams often end with low totals, particularly in matches involving Oman.
