It seems trouble is brewing for Sanju Samson, the captain of the Rajasthan Royals. The athlete might lose his spot in India’s squad for the 2025 Champions Trophy due to disciplinary reasons.
What is the issue? Samson reportedly skipped the Vijay Hazare Trophy, a key fifty-over tournament, which has upset the BCCI. And while Sanju shines in the short format of the game, competition from Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul leaves his chances of making it to the fifty-over tournament minimal.
However, in the upcoming T20I series against England, starting on January 22, Samson still remains a vital player. Last year, he scored three centuries, setting a record for Indian players in this format.
