Rohit Sharma Retains Captaincy for Champions League
Will Rohit be able to prove his critics wrong? We will discover it soon!
India's star batsman Rohit Sharma has retained the captaincy of the national team in the ODI format. The BCCI confirmed this, announcing that he will speak as captain at a press conference on January 18, where the squad for the Champions League and the series against England will also be announced.
Rohit, who missed the final Test of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar series, said he is staying with the team despite rumors of a possible exit. In a bid to regain his form, he has joined Mumbai's training camp ahead of the second leg of the Ranji Trophy.
Despite criticism over his slump in form, former player Yuvraj Singh has defended Sharma, citing his achievements: five IPL titles with Mumbai Indians and a successful captaincy in World Cups.
