The Blue Jays are preparing for the season with a strong addition to their lineup.

The Toronto Blue Jays have officially announced the signing of right-handed pitcher Jeff Hoffman to a three-year, $33 million contract. Hoffman, who was drafted ninth overall by the Blue Jays in 2014 and traded to the Colorado Rockies the following summer, is now back with the team.

In 2024, Hoffman showed impressive form while playing for the Philadelphia Phillies: a 2.17 ERA in 68 games, 89 strikeouts, and just 16 walks in 66 1/3 innings. These achievements earned him his first career MLB All-Star appearance.

Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins said: “His arsenal, his ability to hit strikes and neutralize any opponent is impressive. Jeff will be a valuable addition to our bullpen and will have the ability to close games.”
