India vs England: Jamie Smith to Miss First Two ODI Matches

England wicketkeeper Jamie Smith is likely to miss the first two matches of the ODI series against India, which begins on Thursday. This adds another challenge for the coaching staff as England prepares for the Champions Trophy. Smith, who sustained a calf injury during the third T20 on January 28, will miss the first match in Nagpur and the second in Cuttack. He is expected to return to the squad for the Champions Trophy.
In Smith's absence, either Jos Buttler or Phil Salt is expected to take his place, complicating the selection process. Buttler has also dealt with injury issues, particularly following his recovery from a calf injury.
Meanwhile, Jofra Archer will participate in only two of the three matches, with Saqib Mahmood set to feature in the opening match instead, allowing Archer additional recovery time.
