England’s disastrous tour of India ended with another loss, as they were defeated by 142 runs in the third ODI.
The hosts posted an impressive total of 356 in 50 overs, with Shubman Gill scoring 112 off 102 balls and Shreyas Iyer adding 78. Despite superb bowling figures of 4-64 from Adil Rashid and 3-45 from Mark Wood, England’s team failed to contain the Indian batters.
On the contrary, England managed only 214 runs in 34.2 overs. Tom Banton and Phil Salt attempted to set a platform, but their efforts ended with poor shots. Problems with playing against spin and a lack of concentration remain key issues for England, who lost 42 wickets throughout this tour.
