India Open 2025: Online tickets, convenience, new fan experience, and preparation for the next year.

For the first time in the history of the India Open badminton tournament, tickets have become paid. They can be purchased online, that is, without paper counterparts.

Why is that? The tournament has had Super 750 status in the BWF World Tour series for several years, and before that, admission was free. In previous years, fans had to buy tickets in advance at the same Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Delhi.

The system is designed to reduce crowds and increase convenience through online sales. It is also a test run ahead of the 2026 Badminton World Championships, where a ticketing system is mandatory. “This will help us gauge fan interest and introduce paid access to matches for the first time,” said BAI Secretary General Sanjay Mishra.
