Can Australia’s 264 withstand India’s dominant run? Shami, Jadeja, and Chakravarthy have the answers!

Australia’s captain Steve Smith and Alex Carey played crucial half-centuries, helping their team reach 264 in the first Champions Trophy semi-final in Dubai.

Smith (73) and left-hander Carey (61) set the highest team total of the tournament at this stadium. However, Mohammed Shami (3/48) was the biggest threat to the Australians, while Varun Chakravarthy and Ravindra Jadeja took two wickets each.

The start was tense: Cooper Connolly walked back for a duck after India successfully reviewed the decision. Travis Head responded with a flurry of powerful shots but fell for 39 to Chakravarthy.

Smith and Labuschagne had to battle against India’s spinners before Jadeja broke their partnership. Australia lost momentum after Smith and Maxwell’s dismissals, but Carey held the innings together before being run out by a direct hit from Shreyas Iyer.
