"Too Late to Step Up" – Irfan Pathan on India's Defeat to England in Rajkot
India’s late push wasn’t enough as England capitalized, tightening the T20I series battle.
England secured a convincing victory over India in the third T20I match, winning by 26 runs. This success helped them reduce the series deficit to 2-1. India, opting to bowl first once again, allowed the opposition to post 171 runs, while they could only manage 145/9 in response.
Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan pointed out that the team waited too long before taking action.
"In T20s, adapting quickly is crucial. India left too much for the end, and it cost them," Pathan commented.
Hardik Pandya was India's top scorer with 40 runs off 35 balls, but the team played numerous dot balls overall. Two matches remain in the series — one in Pune and another in Mumbai — where England could pose a significant challenge.
