10,000 Test runs is a new high for Steve Smith! The Australian captain did it in record time, but could he surpass the Indian legends?

Australian captain Steve Smith became the fifth-fastest player in the world, surpassing 10,000 test runs in the series against Sri Lanka on January 29. Smith needed just one run to reach the milestone and secured it on the first ball he faced.

The Australian reached this landmark in 205 innings, trailing only Ricky Ponting among his compatriots.

And who among Indian players achieved this milestone the fastest? Sachin Tendulkar did it even quicker — in just 195 innings — matching Brian Lara and Kumar Sangakkara. His record, set in 2005, remains unbeaten among Indian cricketers.
