Smriti Mandhana's stellar year in 2024 cemented her status as the best women's ODI player!

Indian women's cricket team vice-captain Smriti Mandhana has been named the ICC Women's ODI Cricketer of the Year for her phenomenal performance in 2024. The 28-year-old left-handed batsman scored 747 runs in 13 innings, setting new career highs.

  • Mandhana surpassed some of the top batsmen of the year — Laura Wolvaardt (697), Tammy Beaumont (554), and Hayley Matthias (469).
  • She scored four centuries in the year, a record for women's ODIs, and hit over 100 boundaries, including 95 fours and 6 sixes.
  • Smriti's average was 57.86 and her strike rate was 95.15.

Some of her standout performances included two consecutive hundreds against South Africa in June, a crucial hundred against New Zealand in October, and a heroic 105 against Australia in December. The recognition was a key milestone for Mandhana, who led the Indian team in its historic maiden women's series against Ireland.
