Best Boxers in The World: Our Ranking of 10 Best Fighters
Boxing is more than a sport. It is often compared to art, science, and a psychological struggle. When a boxer enters the ring, every movement matters. Every punch can change history. In the 21st century, boxing has taken on new forms: hybrid styles, digital analytics, and increased competition in all weight categories. The globalization of boxing has made it truly global: we hear about champions from Japan, Ukraine, Mexico, the USA, and Africa. Who can we call the standard of modern boxing? Compiling the top 10 best boxers in the world is quite tough, but it seems that we have managed to do that.
What Criteria Form The Rating of The 10 Best Boxers?
To make our best boxer of all time rating seem reasonable, we analyzed a bunch of parameters for each of the athletes we included in the top. In particular, we are talking about the following criteria:
- Activity in the ring. The regularity of fights is a major factor. Our experts took into account how often a boxer fights, whether he avoids top opponents, and whether he is willing to take risks.
- The quality of opponents. We study the opponents that a boxer has defeated. Our analysts are not just interested in victories, but who they beat, were they: champions, ex-champions, or second-tier fighters.
- Titles and achievements. We study the number of belts, in which divisions they were won, whether the boxer unified titles, or whether he was able to become the undisputed champion.
- Technical skills. We consider the entire arsenal of a boxer: footwork, defense, timing, accuracy of blows, ability to work at different distances, versatility, and variability of style.
- Knockout power (KO%). Striking power is the factor that changes the course of any fight. This is why we take into account not only statistics, but also the effectiveness of punches.
- Psychology and Ring IQ. The ability to stay cool under pressure, read an opponent, change the fight plan - these are the things that distinguish great boxers from good ones.
- Versatility. Before we add a boxer’s name to our list, we study how an athlete can perform in different styles, against different types of opponents, and whether he is ready to move up and down weight categories.
So, who is the best boxer? We don’t have just one name, but 10 you will certainly recognize.
